MarQuez Curtis
MarQuez Curtis was born and raised in Memphis,Tn, a city known as the birthplace of Rock 'n' Roll, an art form that has been indelibly imprinted on his life.
MarQuez has been involved in music and arts from an early age. His passion for singing came at the age of four while singing in the Children’s Choir at his local church. Although he had cousins who had been, proverbially, singing from the cradle, his talents were later in coming to the fore, as he sang for the first time in front of a congregation at age 4, even at a young age it was very clear to anyone that was able to hear him sing that he possessed a natural gift. Recognizing this gift himself, MarQuez continued to grow and cultivate his singing ability making him the artist he is today.
MarQuez is known for his own unique style and approach to music, his musical career has been influenced by many of music’s most influential pioneers including Michael Jackson, The Clark Sisters, TuTu of the Truthettes and Pastor John P. Kee. MarQuez has appeared & sang on TBN's “Praise the Lord”, The Word Network,The Dorinda Clark- Cole Show, and at Memphis’s Hard Rock Café just to name a few.
In 2014, his passion and talent for singing led him to release is debut single entitled “Lord You Are.” The single, which he wrote himself, was produced by Aaron Foster and well received among radio and internet music circles.
In 2016, MarQuez would go on to record his 2nd release entitled BELIEVE , produced by himself, featuring the song “Show Some Sign” which peaked number 28 on the NATIONAL AIRPLAY TOP 50 CHRISTIAN/GOSPEL CHART. The song was also featured on Pastor John P. Kee's new artist compilation project. His debut album is currently in production and promises to be an album that challenges the heart while edifying the soul and inspire greatness through the infusion of inspirational power of music and transformational power of Christ. MarQuez currently serves as an assistant music director at Pastor Stephen Brown's Light of Glory International Church (LOGIC) in Memphis,TN .His goal remains to use his platform as an opportunity to fulfill the purpose of his assignment. MarQuez Curtis is a refreshing addition to the next generation of Gospel music luminaries. He is a young, gifted, talented, anointed, humble, transparent and dynamic vessel who is unashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ. There is absolutely no doubt that MarQuez Curtis will be impacting the industry for years to come.
New music from Rising Gospel Recording Artist MarQuez Curtis is currently impacting radio. The song, “I Am Blessed,” is sure to get you moving on your feet, while joyfully praising the Lord! The single features Quartet Legend Tiffanie “TuTu” Agee, of the World Renowned Gospel Group, The Truthettes. She is known for such Hits as "Peanut Butter and Jelly," "God Stood by My Side”,” Making Away”, “Every Step of the Way” & "God Will Make Away” all recorded with The Truthettes.
On the churchy tune, MarQuez expresses a more quartet sound coupled with TuTu’s high and fast melisma, riffs, runs, and soulful growls. Written & produced by MarQuez Curtis himself, he states, “I’m so thrilled about releasing this song to the nation. The most beautiful and perfect way that we have of expressing a sweet concord of the mind to each other is by music.”
